Increasing On-Time Access to Prenatal Care
The Community Health subcommittee is exploring a number of possible interventions to increase access, and remove barriers, to on-time access to prenatal care.
Currently, graduate students funded by the Collaborative have produced:
- Detailed summary of main operations and processed of HHSC’s Presumptive Eligibility (PE) Program
- Literature review of barriers to on-time access to prenatal care
- Inventory of Medicaid 1115 Transformation Waiver projects occurring in Texas related to women’s health, maternal and child health
- Survey of UT System health institutions on training provided to medical residents for long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC), immediate postpartum insertion, and immediate post-placental insertion.
