TCHMB’s Neonatal Subcommittee focuses on improving health care for neonates and families.  It promotes evidence-based practice through clinical quality improvement projects.

The Neonatal Subcommittee’s current project is to increase the availability and use of human milk for the vulnerable population of premature or very low birth weight babies. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) endorses breastfeeding and human milk as the normative standard for infant feeding, including for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
